Makayla's finished stocking

I have had this stocking completed for a couple of years now but have never gotten around to actually making it into a stocking. Well, Mom and I finally picked this past Saturday as the day to finish it. She found some beautiful red velvet for the back of the stocking, and between the 2 of us, it took nearly the entire afternoon to get it done. The final result is more beautiful than I could have imagined.

Isabella's Garden

This is a Lavendar & Lace project #63 designed by Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum. I saw this project completed at a store in Moncton and had to have it. My 3-year old daughter loves blowing bubbles and this totally reminded me of her.

Roses

This is a design by Christie Repasy that is distributed by Dimensions. It was a quick cross stitch to do. I plan to have it framed and hang it in my bedroom as the colours match my comforter really well.

End of a Perfect Day

This is a Thomas Kinkade design that is distributed by Candamar Designs. It took me nearly 6 months to finish this project since it had so much detail. It is beautiful now that it is finished.

Aztek Rug

My mother brought this kit back from a trip to Arizona. It was a huge project and took me quite a while to complete. My mom has it hung in her entryway.

Makayla's Stocking

This was distributed by Dimensions. I haven't completed it as a stocking yet, but hopefully before next Christmas, it will be finished.

Promises to Keep

This was designed by Stoney Creek Collection. I completed this project for my brother-in-law and his fiancee as a wedding gift.

Fingerprints

This was distributed by Leisure Arts Inc. This pattern came from Leisure Arts leaflet #3206 titled "Sweet Baby Memories". I don't have anybody in particular in mind to receive this, but I'm sure somebody will get it someday.

Teddies on Quilt

This was designed by Anna Krajewski and distributed by Dimensions.

Pooh & Friends

This was designed by AA Milne & EH Shepard. This project came from a Leisure Arts Pooh Collection book entitled "Pooh & Friends". I finished this for a friend of mine who had her baby's room decorated in Pooh, so this will fit right in.

Calla Lilies

This was designed by Karen Marie Zabroski and distributed by Dimensions. It was a quick and easy project with practically no backstitching. My brother had this framed to give to my sister as a gift for her wedding.

Basket Bouquet

This was distributed by Candamar Designs Inc. My mom had it framed as a birthday gift for my aunt.

Row of Love

This was designed by Vail Oxley and distributed by Dimensions. This is a project that I had wanted to work on for a couple of years before I actually bought it because I liked the design so much. It now hangs in Makayla's room.

Honey Bear

This was designed by Doug Knutson and distributed by Dimensions. This is hanging in Makayla's room.

My Sister's Wedding Announcement

I designed this myself. I loved this saying that I found in a card that I received with a wedding gift. I stitched this for my sister and her husband-to-be as a wedding gift.

Keepsake Afghan

This was designed by Kooler Design Studio. This pattern comes from a Leisure Arts leaflet entitled 'Keepsake Afghan - A Record of Baby's First Year' #2486.

Welcome Baby

This pattern came from a Leisure Arts leaflet titled 'Sweet Baby Memories'. I completed this project for my daughter who was born in June 2005. It is currently hanging over Makayla's bed.

Beary Special One

This was designed by Priscilla Hillman. I stitched this Cherished Teddy design for friends of mine as a gift for the birth of their first child. They had decorated the nursery in Cherished Teddies so I found a design that would match perfectly.

Bear Holding Blanket

This project was from a Leisure Arts leaflet. This will be a gift when a friend or family member has a baby. I will add the baby's name and birth date to the bottom.

Winter Outing

This was designed by Carl Valente and distributed by Dimensions. There is a considerable amount of half-cross stitches so I actually got through the pattern relatively quickly.

The Best Gifts Banner

This was designed by Brian Jackins. I completed 2 of these projects - one for me and one for my mother. I display it every year at Christmastime.

Emma and Bailey Afternoon Tea

This is a design from Stoney Creek Collection. This Boyds Bear cross stitch was a gift for my mother-in-law who collects Boyds Bear figurines. She has this displayed in her living room.

Wedding Pillow

This was designed by the New Berlin Company. I made these pillows as a gift for the four bridesmaids in my wedding to show them how much I appreciated them. I used a kit and adapted the design so it would be personal.

Simply Sunflowers

This is a Paula Vaughan design. I loved working on this project because the design was so pretty.

Country Cottage Welcome

This project was from a Dimensions kit. I completed this project when Clay and I bought our first home. It still hangs on the inside of our front door.

Let All You Do Be Done In Love

This was designed by Craftways Corporation. This is a project that I got from a cross-stitch calendar. Each month had a different pattern.

Through a Mother's Eyes

This is a Paula Vaughan design. I finished this project for my mother the year I got married.

The Trout Fisherman

The Trout Fisherman was designed by Joyce Bailey. I found it on Patterns Online. I finished this project as a gift for my father for Christmas. My father really enjoys fishing.

Precious Moments

This is a Precious Moments project designed by Gloria & Pat, Inc. I found it on Patterns Online. I was looking for a bathtub theme to hang in my bathroom which is where it currently is.

Procrastination

This was designed by Jeanette Crews Designs, Inc. I found this design on Patterns Online. I really liked it since it looks so much like my dog Snoopy.

Southern Social

This was designed by James Himsworth and was a Dimensions kit #35010. This one is framed and hanging in my dining room.

Paula Vaughan designs

These projects were both designed by Paula Vaughan. Her work is stunning and so detailed. I just love working on them. These projects were the first where I used linen. This design is of Paula Vaughan's March quilt.

This one is of Paula's August quilt.

Springtime Victorian

This was designed by Marty Bell. It is the first cross stitching project that I completed that I had framed. It still hangs in my dining room.

Girl With Cosmos

This project's designer is Nancy Cole. The best part about this project was that there was absolutely no backstitching. And it still looks beautiful.

Stockpile Cows

This design is from a Leisure Arts leaflet called "Herd It" #2550. It was my first project that I worked on that didn't come from a kit.

Remember Me

This design was from a Leisure Arts leaflet called "From the Heart" #945. I originally stitched it for a friend but decided to keep it once I finished.

M.I. Hummel projects

"Follow the Leader" by M.I. Hummel

"Stormy Weather" by M.I. Hummel

These hang in my parents' dining room. My mother loves Hummels as did my grandmother.

My first cross stitching project

Here is the first cross stitching project that I completed back in 1990. The project is entitled "Life's a Beach" but I can't remember who designed it back in the day. I sure have learned a lot of tricks of the trade since then.
